Early Years Parental Coach (0-6 years old) // Coach Genitoriale Prima Infanzia (0-6 anni)

In the first few months to dress a newborn you need a bit of everything. We suggest you pay attention to the clothes’ fabrics which allow the skin to breathe and prevent any irritation. Natural fibres are very good: such as cotton, viscose, linen, silk, bamboo and wool.

Also, don't cover your child excessively: newborns, thanks to an innate principle of thermoregulation, are able to face the cold better than adults generally think.
Ideally clothes are comfortable and abundant (it is better to avoid the tightest garments) in order to allow movements. Also the "onion" style is better: many light layers to "remove" according to need, rather than a single heavy garment.

As for quantities, we advise you not to exaggerate: it is important to have some spare clothes (let's say one change a day, therefore a "stock" of seven, because you will not always have time to wash his clothes. In addition, there is no need to fill the drawers with tons of clothes because, remember, newborns grow quickly and you risk having an excess of clothing that will still remain new.

In practice, you may need:

  • five or six baby suits all-in-one (more or less heavy, depending on the season): those with buttons and that open only from the waist down are particularly useful, to avoid unnecessary exposure to the cold);
  • four or five bodysuits (comfortable because they don't move) or if you prefer short-sleeved or long-sleeved vests (depending on the season);
  • two- three light woollen cardigan (if winter);
  • five socks (if the suits don't have feet or if it was very cold);
  • a woollen hat or a cotton sun hat (depending on the season);
  • an all-in-one pram suit for going out during the winter months;
  • a pair of cotton gloves, in case the pram suit may not have built-in gloves;
  • two blankets (wool or cotton depending on the season).
