The stories of the two protagonist brothers in this volume run parallel. The two brothers start this adventure from the same situation, a plot of land full of animals, trees and birds. What differs, however, is the way the two have of managing this 'property' of theirs.
The first will try to create his own habitat in harmony with the nature around him, with the animals that populated this slice of land before him and that will continue to live in the area. The vision of the second brother, on the other hand, is different. Page after page he transforms and distorts the landscape, exploiting every last tree, relegating mother nature to a mere embellishment and thinking more about profit than balance.
It is a large illustrated book that tells a powerful story in a few words, leading young and old to reflect on the meaning of each word. Speaking in this volume published by Terre di Mezzo Editore are the illustrations, which page after page show us a different way of experiencing nature, a way that, in some passages, may be very familiar to us.
