How to wash after childbirth? Tips for intimate hygiene
When washing your private parts, especially in the first few days after childbirth, use a suitable, very mild soap, and do not rub them to dry, but rather dab them with a delicate towel or a very soft, disposable paper towel, or if you prefer you can use a hair dryer with a gentle jet.
It is important to get rid of moisture residue, so we suggest you change the absorbent towel often and use cotton ones, to avoid irritation as much as possible.

Which pants should be used after childbirth?
Thanks to their breathable fabric, mesh pants after childbirth promote healing and are suitable whether you have stitches or not.
As soon as you return home, opt for cotton pants to which you should add cotton pads for as long as necessary.

How long does postnatal bleeding last?
The duration of postnatal bleeding is subjective and variable, but in most cases it does not exceed 40 days, which generally corresponds to the end of puerperium.

What to avoid after a caesarean section?
If you have undergone a caesarean section, remember that you cannot resume intense physical activity or even exercise before six weeks, which is the minimum period required for the wound to heal. In the meantime, however, it is a good idea for new mothers to avoid lying down or sitting all the time, but should instead try to help their bodies recover more quickly through light physical activity, such as walking or gentle exercise.

How long do you stay in hospital?
As far as health care is concerned, the WHO reiterates the importance of ensuring care in health facilities for at least 24 hours after birth and of providing at least three additional check-ups in the first six weeks after delivery.

What clothes are needed to get out of the hospital?
In general, you will need baby suits, bodysuits and socks (about four of each), a small towel, a blanket, newborn nappies and wipes. If the expected delivery date falls in the winter period, bodysuits and sleepsuits that are preferable are made of wool or warm cotton and have long sleeves, as well as a heavy hat.

When leaving the hospital baby seat or carrycot?
Many hospitals require the baby carrier for discharge from hospital, for going home, and it is preferable for any car journey.

When does the period arrive after childbirth?
Generally speaking, menstrual flow can recur from 70 days up to several months after childbirth, even up to the entire breastfeeding period. If the new mother does not breastfeed, however, menstruation may return in the 40-50 days following the birth of the baby.

How many kilos are lost at childbirth?
Once childbirth has taken place, between 5 and 7 kilos are usually lost, since a large part corresponds to the baby's weight and another part to the amniotic fluid and the placenta. In addition, apart from the weight of the uterus, all the retained liquids are mainly concentrated in the legs and hands.
